AI Basket Ball

Virtually

Abcde wanted a realistic environment. It is probably a wise idea to make sure it works correctly before trying to overlay the ML. Can anyone guess why I mention that? Abcde is unimpressed.

Once you master the physics and drag, you still need to reliably detect entry through the hoop and handle those elastic collisions. The important thing is not to confuse the AI where something works but shouldn’t.

Balls are thrown with a “force”, I’ve provided a slider to set that:

Angles are easier to visualise with a protractor. Change the angle with the +/- buttons.

Abcde is only permitted from 15-70 degrees because larger angles require the ball to be launched through the virtual roof ruining what little realism it has. You are allowed to. Below 15 degrees, you cannot find anywhere the ball can be thrown from that will go into the hoop (ignoring high angles and bounces).

It’s also helpful to know where the Abde thinks the ball is going when launched. RED = miss, GREEN = goal.
